Becky the book is called The War of Art by Stephen Pressfield. I give a copy to all of my certification students because it is THE most powerful little book about resistance and getting unstuck that I have read in years!

It also helps people make the shift from being an “amateur” who is not paid for their work to approaching your new vocation - writing, consulting, etc. like a “professional” who deserves to be paid for their gifts. I am not doing it justice at all. Buy it and you will see why Barbara Winter raves about this book!

How can a non US based person get involved in your certification program?

As a 48 year old business and IT systems consultant, with a 18 year old son, I am always affected by hearing how some parents push their kids into what they “think is good for them” yet they do not want to listen to what their
kids have to say on this - especially when these youngsters are a little unsure. We’ve decied to expose our son to a number of avenues to explore, to see where his creative talents will gel rather than rush into “getting him
into university - cause that’s what everyone else is doing”.

this request comes from the drive to become a better prepared “advisor” or “food for thought careers chef” (Now there’s a trading name!!), because I feel a great sense of contribution when these guys listen and consider what
I offer to their decision process.

BTW - I have been a newsletter subscriber for some years and have your short story e-book, which I use as a basis for offering thought provoking questions.

Keep up the great work, you are a very inspiring writer, and offer up a unique recipe of topics and lessons(there’s that food link again!)for digestion (and again!).

Matt love the business name! And thanks for the kind words! I have never had an international response like this before. It is truly amazing to hear from people from not only my own continent but four others!

As for how you can get involved… I will answer you and Laurie at the same time. Laurie wrote to say:

I have already gone through Biblical Coaching certification but am looking for a more practical implementation type of course.

Is there any way you will reconsider and do a teleclasss this year? I don’t think it’s going to work out for me to come to the 5 day class.

Unfortunately there is no way I can do a teleclass version of the Certification this fall. I received a major advance from Crown to write a book and its due December 1. I won’t even be touching it until after the May certification so suffice it to say delivering that book (did I say they are paying me a lot of money to write it?!) will be my all consuming task… so I am sorry to say I simply cannot do both justice.

If I can swing it before my writing sabbitical I will try to put together a self-study version that Matt, Laurie or others can take and run with.
