Thank you for reminding us to enjoy and experience our life in each moment. As I like to say "time is the currency of your life you cannot get back". You can always make more money and replace the things you lose, but you cannot get back the moments of your life with family, friends or just enjoying your health and the world around you now.

Thanks, I need that. I was just thinking I'd like to fast forward thru the holidays, so I could just relegate them to memory and 'remember when land'. Whether it's 'be here now' or live each moment. We all need to stop and live in our now, bloom where we're planted. Thanks again - perlesink.blogspot.com.

All I can say is 'Wow'....this piece is absolutely inspirational and speaks volumes as I have been doing a lot of thinking and soul searching lately. These two paragraphs, and I quote, say it all...."To be fully in the moment is no small task. Even on a good day our minds have a tendency to race ahead with plans or worries or ideas. Being present is even more challenging when the current state of affairs is the very thing we so desperately seek to change.

And yet, neglecting the present invariably leads to future regrets. Being too busy to spend meaningful time with our children, visit a sick or aging relative, exercise, or even have fun is the stuff regrets are made of. None of us will look back at our lives and wish we’d done less, but we will all wonder why we didn’t do more."

All I keep thinking is that I did do that...I was always too busy thinking about all the other things that I never appreciated the present moments at the time. Now that I'm in the beginning stages of becoming an empty-nester...I can't help but think about this exact statement....of not appreciating the time that I had all those years ago as a stay at home mom. I do have regrets now looking back...not totally realizing that one day the kids would be gone on their own to make their own lives.

I do have one realization that once my baby is gone, it will be time to focus on me again. I am looking for inspirational pieces like this to make me realize that living in the present will be a challenge but much more worth it if I learn to appreciate things more. I'm accepting the fact that there's nothing I can do to change the past but I want to learn to focus on my present so that I can better enjoy my future! Thanks again Valerie, for your words of wisdom! Always appreciated!
